Seminar on Scientific Research and Medical Simulation at Benha National University

Benha National University organized a scientific seminar that included two workshops on "Scientific Research in the Medical Sector" and "Simulation in Medical Education," along with open discussions with students about training opportunities and conducting scientific research at universities in Canada and the United States. Students from the university's medical Colleges (College of Medicine, College of Dentistry, and College of Physical Therapy) participated in the event.

Objectives of the Seminar:

  • Highlighting the importance of scientific research in developing healthcare and improving medical practices.
  • Introducing medical simulation techniques and their role in enhancing clinical training for students.

Prof. Tamer Samir, President of Benha National University, emphasized the university's commitment to holding scientific seminars, as they contribute to enhancing the quality of education and scientific research. He added that these seminars play a pivotal role in developing the educational and research process within universities, serving as an effective means for exchanging knowledge and experiences among students, College members, and researchers.

Prof. Samir further stated that the university aims to foster critical thinking among students through these seminars, encourage scientific dialogue, and build collaborative networks between students and researchers from various universities, thereby advancing scientific research at the university.

Prof. Karim El-Dash, Vice President of the University for International Relations, pointed out that scientific seminars provide students with opportunities to learn from the experiences of experts, researchers, and College members, contributing to the development of their academic and research skills.

The seminar featured Prof. Yasser Nour El-Din, Assistant Professor and Urologist at Western University in Canada, who holds fellowships from McGill University in Canada and the University of Washington in the United States.

Workshop Details:

  • The first workshop covered essential topics on scientific research methodologies in the medical sector, the foundations of preparing and publishing medical research in prestigious scientific journals, with a focus on how to use scientific evidence to develop clinical practices.
  • The second workshop concentrated on the use of simulation techniques in medical education, showcasing advanced interactive models that help students acquire practical skills in a safe environment that simulates medical reality.
