The Council of Benha National University held its meeting today, chaired by Prof. Tamer Samir, President of the University, with the attendance of Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, Prof. Hussein El-Maghraby, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Prof. Mahmoud Shakl, Vice President for Employment, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship, program directors, council members, the university's Secretary General, and the Assistant Secretary.
Key Decisions Made:
- Update of Health Sciences Technology Program Regulations (Bylaw): The council approved an updated proposal for the regulations of the Health Sciences Technology program, which will include Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, and Anesthesia and Intensive Care Technology programs.
- Establishment of an Entrepreneurship and Innovation Club: The council agreed to create an Entrepreneurship and Innovation Club at Benha National University aimed at attracting, training, and supporting outstanding students across all university programs who are interested in innovation and entrepreneurship. This club will form a working team to participate in innovative projects, serving as a foundation for a business incubator and a center for business development, representing Benha National University in local and international competitions.
- Cooperation Protocols: Prof. Samir noted that the council also approved signing cooperation protocols with various entities, including the Ministry of Health, the Digital Egypt Innovation Center in Benha under the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the Egyptian Treasures Company for Archaeological Models, and the Unify Egypt Foundation for Community Integration (Special Olympics Egypt program) to enhance cooperation between the university and different institutions.

- Student Union Elections: The council reviewed the student union elections, which will be held for the first time at the university, confirming the formation of a high committee to supervise and monitor the elections throughout their various stages, ensuring that students have the full opportunity to choose their representatives in the student unions easily.
- Supplementary and Qualification Exams: The council examined the letter from the Council of Private Universities regarding the supplementary and qualification exams and the Biology subject for new students enrolled in the medical sector for the academic year 2024/2025, who have obtained the Saudi secondary school diploma under the pathways system. The exam is scheduled to take place on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at the exam building on the Cairo University campus, with an emphasis on notifying students about the exam date.
- Central Library Preparation: The council discussed the preparation of the university's central library, given its vital role in supporting the educational and research processes, and approved the presentation of the regulations booklet for sponsors at Benha National University.
- Field Training Units Regulations: The council reviewed the organizational regulations for the field training units in the faculties of Benha National University and considered approving the internal regulations for the university's Continuing Education Center, which has a significant impact on serving various sectors in the governorate and the surrounding community, aiming to create a highly trained generation capable of achieving comprehensive development across all sectors.
