Prof. Tamer Samir’s speech, President of the University, on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women

On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, observed on November 25 each year, I urge my sons and daughters, the students, to understand one of the important concepts: (Empowerment of Women). This is a fundamental issue that contributes to achieving social justice and sustainable development. Empowering women and achieving gender equality not only means granting girls their basic rights but also enhancing their roles in society, which leads to an improved quality of life for everyone.

We must recognize that women and girls represent half of the world's population, and thus half of its potential. Therefore, gender equality, as a fundamental human right, is essential for achieving peace in communities and unlocking the full potential of society. Moreover, it has been proven that empowering women stimulates productivity and economic growth.

At Benha National University, we strive to achieve full equality in rights and opportunities for everyone—students, College, administrative staff, and employees. The university is committed to ensuring equal opportunities in accessing jobs, leadership positions, and decision-making at all levels.

Long live the great women and girls of Egypt, with all goodness and peace.
