Benha National University Continues Support for Student Activities with Launch of GDG on Campus Season 2 at the College of Computer Science

Under the auspices of Prof. Tamer Samir, President of Benha National University, the College of Computer Science hosted the launch event for the second season of Google Developer Groups On Campus (GDG On Campus - BNU) at the University Theater. The event witnessed a distinguished attendance of university leaders, College members, and a large turnout of students passionate about technology and programming.

Prof. Tamer Samir emphasized the university’s commitment to providing a modern educational environment that fosters creativity and bridges academic studies with practical application. He highlighted that technical student activities like GDG are pivotal in building competitive graduates for the job market.

Prof. Hussein El-Maghraby, Vice President for Academic Affairs, underscored the role of student initiatives in enhancing applied learning systems. He noted that technical communities like GDG sharpen students’ skills and transform theoretical knowledge into practical expertise.

Prof. Karim El-Dash, Vice President for International Relations, reiterated the university’s focus on strengthening partnerships with global institutions and tech companies to expand international opportunities for students. He described GDG On Campus as a successful model of academia-industry collaboration.

Prof. Mahmoud Shakl, Vice President for Employment, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship, highlighted the university’s efforts to promote innovation and entrepreneurship through such events, equipping students with skills to compete in advanced technology fields.

Prof. Shady Y. El-Mashad, Dean of Computer Science College, praised the student organizers of GDG, calling the community a distinguished platform for technical knowledge exchange and skill development in programming, UI/UX design, data analysis, and Cybersecurity. He added that the College plans to expand student-led tech initiatives and enhance participation in local and international competitions.
