Under the patronage of Prof. Tamer Samir, President of Benha National University, and Prof. Hussein El-Maghraby, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and under the supervision of Prof. Eman Abdel Ghaffar, Director of Programs, Faculty of Computer Science, Benha National University, the university took part in the Egyptian Collegiate Programming Contest (ECPC), one of Egypt’s leading competitive programming competitions for university students.
Benha National University was represented by 24 student teams, 23 from the Faculty of Computer Science and one from the Faculty of Engineering. The university’s participation reflects its commitment to developing students’ programming, algorithmic thinking, problem solving, and teamwork skills through competitive and practical learning experiences.
On the sixth day of the competition, 295 teams from universities across Egypt took part in the contest. Two teams from Benha National University’s Faculty of Computer Science secured qualification to the next stage of the university level competition.
The first qualifying team comprised:
- Ziad Raafat Kamal
- Mohamed Hatem El Sayed El Araby
- Ziad Wael Hassan Mohamed
The second qualifying team comprised:
- Salma Mohamed Taysir Abd El Halim
- Kyrollos Emad Azmy Girgis
- Moamen Ibrahim Ramadan Kotb
The second team also placed second among Benha National University’s participating teams, highlighting the strong performance of the Faculty of Computer Science students and their ability to compete at a high level in competitive programming.
The achievement reflects the university’s continued efforts to support student participation in scientific and technology competitions, provide opportunities for hands on learning and skills development, and strengthen students’ competitiveness in computer science and information technology.
