Prof. Tamer Samir, President of Benha National University, inspected the progress of studies on the first day of the new 2026–2027 academic year and reviewed the readiness of the University’s faculties to welcome students during an extensive tour. He was accompanied by Prof. Hussein El Maghraby, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Prof. Mahmoud Saqr, Vice President for Employment, Innovation and Entrepreneurship; and the Directors of Programmes. The tour aimed to follow up on the regularity of the educational process and assess the readiness of the University’s various sectors as the new academic year began.
Prof. Tamer Samir joined students in celebrating the start of the new academic year, congratulating them and welcoming new students, while wishing them a year filled with success and excellence. He also listened to their views and aspirations, took commemorative photographs with them, and joined them in some of the activities and events organised by the University on the first day, including art workshops, sports activities and recreational games, in an atmosphere characterised by enthusiasm and engagement.
On the first day, all University faculties held an Orientation Day for new students, introducing them to the academic programmes, study regulations and services provided by the University. Students were also introduced to the various student activities and ways of participating in them, helping them integrate into university life and become familiar with their new academic community.
Prof. Tamer Samir emphasised that university life is not limited to academic attainment, but also extends to building students’ character and developing their skills and capabilities. He noted that the University places considerable emphasis on student activities in all their forms, given their important role in identifying talents, fostering participation and teamwork, instilling values of loyalty and belonging, and developing students’ awareness of their responsibilities towards their University and country, alongside encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship.
As part of the University’s recognition of its students’ achievements, the President honoured the students who won at the African University Games, Cairo 2026, in recognition of the outstanding results they achieved during the competitions and the distinguished performance they delivered, which contributed to representing Benha National University with distinction at university sporting events.
Prof. Hussein El Maghraby, Vice President for Academic Affairs, affirmed that the regularity of studies from the first day reflects the readiness of the faculties and programmes to welcome students. He noted that the University is committed to providing an interactive educational environment that places students at the heart of the educational process and offers them comprehensive opportunities for learning and participation in various activities, contributing to the development of their skills and character and strengthening the values of belonging, commitment and responsibility.
Prof. Mahmoud Saqr also followed up on the faculties’ preparations to implement various activities and events, talent identification and development programmes, and initiatives to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship. He affirmed the University’s commitment to supporting students and encouraging their positive participation in university life, while providing an environment that promotes learning, creativity and teamwork and contributes to preparing graduates equipped with knowledge, skills and national awareness.
The tour forms part of the University’s ongoing field based follow up of the educational process, its efforts to strengthen direct communication with students, and its work to ensure the readiness of the faculties and the various services provided to students. It supports an organised and effective start to the new academic year and reaffirms the University’s commitment to student activities as one of the key pillars in building students’ character and reinforcing the values of loyalty and belonging.
