Benha National University organized a workshop titled "Financial Inclusion," attended by Professor Tamer Samir, the university president, and Professor Mahmoud Shakl, the vice president for employment, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
This workshop is part of Benha National University's participation in the "Bidaya" initiative, a new beginning for human development, which is a presidential initiative for human development in collaboration with Banque du Caire and under the auspices of the Central Bank of Egypt. This initiative aims to enhance financial and banking awareness among students and the local community.
Professor Tamer Samir opened the workshop with a welcoming speech, emphasizing the importance of financial inclusion as a tool for enhancing economic and social development. He highlighted the role of universities in spreading financial awareness and equipping students with the knowledge and skills necessary to face the challenges of the labor market, affirming the importance of raising awareness among university students to support the Egyptian state's vision in establishing financial culture for the national economy and promoting awareness of financial and digital inclusion.
Professor Mahmoud Shakl, the vice president for employment, innovation, and entrepreneurship, pointed out the importance of innovation in the field of financial inclusion and how students can benefit from these concepts in developing their ideas and future projects. He also mentioned the services provided in this regard, such as electronic payments, bank transfers, digital applications and platforms for government and banking services, how to obtain digital identity cards and related services, financial inclusion programs, and opening bank accounts.
The workshop also witnessed active participation from representatives of Banque du Caire, who presented a series of lectures and interactive workshops on available financial services and how to access them, in addition to showcasing some successful experiences in this field.
The workshop included discussion sessions that allowed students to ask questions and discuss their ideas with experts. The workshop was met with enthusiasm from the attending students, who expressed their appreciation for the efforts made by the university and Banque du Caire in promoting the culture of financial inclusion.
