Engineering Students Achieve High Rankings in Technical and Innovative Competitions

Students from the Faculty of Engineering have achieved remarkable accomplishments in technical and innovative competitions. Student: Saif Allah Wael Hassan secured the first place in the International Robot Challenge.

Additionally, student : Hanin Ahmed Hamid and student : Abdul Rahman Mohamed Nasser, who are also from the Faculty of Engineering, won second place in the Tech Beam Hackathon. Their project, titled “Empowering Tomorrow with Yesterday’s Wisdom,” was developed with the support of the Learning and Development team as the primary user. Throughout this journey, the team gained valuable insights into the design thinking process, enabling them to transform their idea into a practical and innovative solution.

Moreover, student: Saif Allah Wael Hassan and student: Shahd Ahmed Mahmoud from the Faculty of Engineering obtained fourth place in the Fourth DeepTech Hackathon at the Electronics Research Institute, with their project on Hydroponics (growing plants in water without soil).

Professor Tamer Samir, the university president, emphasized the importance of student participation in these events, considering it an opportunity to enhance innovation and critical thinking skills. These efforts are part of Benha National University’s initiatives to encourage its students to compete in local and international competitions, as well as to provide an inspiring educational environment that supports creativity and opens new horizons for students to achieve their aspirations.

Professor Hossam Maghary, the university’s vice president for academic affairs, expressed pride in the achievements of the students, noting that the university places great importance on student activities that enhance their skills and help them develop their ideas. He added that student activities are an essential part of the higher education experience, contributing to building the student’s character and developing their leadership and collaborative skills.

Prof. Mohamed Said, Dean of the Faculty, also expressed his pride in the success of these teams, stating: “This achievement reflects our students' continuous efforts to strive for excellence and innovation. In the Faculty of Engineering, we focus on enhancing our students' skills by involving them in such competitions, which provide them with the opportunity to apply what they have learned in a practical setting. The university encourages all its students to continue exploring new ideas and participating in challenges that contribute to developing their skills and preparing them for the job market.”
