Benha National University organized a workshop titled "Media Monitoring Mechanisms" for the employees of the Public Relations, Media, and Marketing Department. The aim was to enhance the efficiency of the staff and develop their media skills.
Prof. Tamer Samir, President of Benha National University, emphasized the university's commitment to building the capabilities of its team by bringing in experts from various fields. He pointed out that investing in the development of the skills and capabilities of the team directly reflects on performance efficiency and the quality of results.
Prof. Tamer Samir added that continuous development provides employees with the tools and knowledge they need for creative thinking and innovation, opening the door for presenting new ideas and solutions that contribute to improving processes and enhancing the institution's competitiveness. Prof. Karim El-Dash, Vice President for International Relations, highlighted the importance of enhancing the media team's skills at the university, considering it the university's window to the outside world and a key link between the university and academic and research institutions globally. This is achieved by disseminating academic news, research achievements, and distinguished educational programs, which reflects a positive image of the university and enhances its international standing. It also facilitates communication with local and international students by clarifying the university's capabilities and advantages.
Journalist and broadcaster Ragy Amer, media advisor to the university president, explained that this training is part of a comprehensive media training plan aimed at building the media team's capabilities to enhance their professional experience, especially in light of the continuous developments in the field of media and communication. He stated that training has become a necessity for improving the performance of those working in the media field, striving to achieve the university's goals and contribute to building a positive image of it.
The workshop was presented by Prof. Ramadan Qarny, an expert from the General Authority for Information. The workshop included a detailed explanation of media monitoring mechanisms and tools, as well as methods for analyzing media content. It also featured an interactive discussion among the trainees to identify the main obstacles they face in performing their media tasks and to propose solutions. Additionally, there was a practical application for the trainees on how to respond to rumors and incorrect news, along with practical guidance and evaluation of the trainees' performance, as well as discussions on how to formulate a media strategy.
