Benha National University Organized Training Course for Teachers on Integrating Students with Disabilities

As part of the Awareness Initiative launched by Benha National University in collaboration with the Faculty of Education at Benha University (governmental) and the Directorate of Education in Kalyobiya Governorate, a three-day intensive training course was organized for teachers focused on "Integrating Students with Disabilities in Schools." The goal is to enhance teachers' skills in dealing with students with intellectual disabilities and to apply inclusive integration strategies.

Course Details:

  • Sponsorship: Tamer Samir, President of the University.
  • Inauguration: Hussein El Maghraby, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Prof. Mahmoud Shakl, Vice President for Employment, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship.
  • Attendance: Saad Assal, Director of the Educational Administration in El Obour City.
  • Number of Trainees:36 teachers from schools in El Obour City.

Course Content:

  • The course included theoretical and practical lectures delivered by a group of specialists in special education.
  • Main Topics:
    • Concept of educational integration.
    • Factors for success and obstacles.
    • Roles of teachers, psychological counselors, and social specialists in integrated schools.
    • Strategies for dealing with students with mild intellectual disabilities.

  • Mohamed Kamel Abu Al-Fotouh, Dean of the Faculty of Education at Benha National University (governmental).
  • Several specialists in the field of special education.

Importance of the Course:

Prof. Tamer Samir emphasized the significance of such courses in enhancing teachers' qualifications and preparing them to deal with students with disabilities, contributing to effective inclusive integration.

Law on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities:

It is noteworthy that Law No. (10) of 2018 on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities enhances the rights of individuals with disabilities and aims to support them in various fields. This reflects the efforts of Benha National University in supporting the educational process and developing teachers' skills in line with Egypt's Vision 2030 to achieve quality education for all.
