Under the auspices of Prof. Tamer Samir, the President of the University, Benha University organized a medical and awareness Convoy at the Orphans' Home of Tala'e Al-Obour. This initiative is part of its pioneering community role and commitment to supporting vulnerable groups, as part of the “Goodness Unites Us” initiative.
Prof. Tamer Samir emphasized that the university prioritizes community service and is keen on providing support and care to all segments of society. He believes that the university's mission extends beyond education and scientific research to include active humanitarian participation.
Meanwhile, Prof. Mahmoud Shakl, the Vice President for Employment, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship, explained that the Convoy embodies the university's vision of instilling values of solidarity, volunteering, and community leadership. He confirmed that the goal is to enhance social solidarity and instill values of giving and responsibility among students.
The Convoy was led by Prof. Mahmoud Shakl and included Prof. Samia Al-Azab, Dean of Dental College, Prof. Mohamed Siraj El-Din, Dean of Physical Therapy College, as well as several College members and a number of volunteer students from the Colleges of Medicine, Dentistry, and Physical Therapy.
The Convoy's activities included three educational awareness lectures for the children of the home, focusing on:
- The importance of oral health care and ways to prevent oral diseases.
- The significance of good posture and correct movement techniques to maintain spinal health.
The participating medical teams conducted comprehensive examinations for 23 children aged between 16 and 19 years. The Dental College team performed thorough oral health checks and provided awareness tips, while the Physical Therapy team assessed body postures and offered guidance on maintaining back and joint safety.
The event concluded with the distribution of gifts to the children, which included oral health care supplies, a humanitarian gesture that had a significant positive impact on their spirits.
Through this initiative, Benha National University reaffirms its steadfast commitment to its community role and its ongoing efforts to build a more humane and supportive future for the nation's children.
