The Board of Trustees of Benha National University held its meeting, chaired by Prof. Gamal El-Saeed, with the presence of Eng. Ayman Attia, Governor of Kalyobiya, Prof. Nasser El-Ghazawy, President of Benha University, Prof. Soheir Shaarawy, Vice President of the Board of Trustees of Benha National University, Prof. Maher Msbah, Secretary of the Council of National Universities, Prof. Tamer Samir, President of Benha National University, and members of the Board of Trustees. Additionally, Prof. Essam El-Kurdi, head of the University Development Support Authority, and Prof. Mohamed El-Sharkawy, advisor to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, participated remotely.
Prof. Gamal El-Saeed emphasized that Benha National University is taking steady and clear steps to occupy a distinguished position in the Egyptian higher education system as one of the most important National universities stemming from public universities. He thanked the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Council of National Universities, Benha University, and the University Development Support Authority for their support in establishing Benha National University and assisting it in fulfilling its mission.
He noted that the university is keen to offer advanced educational programs based on the latest academic and technological methods and has become one of the attractive universities for study after successfully gaining the trust of students, parents, and the community. Furthermore, the university has begun to appear in several international rankings despite its recent establishment, which confirms its excellence at all levels.
The Chairman of the Board of Trustees added that they are currently seeking to accredit the university's faculties from the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education after graduating the first class next year. Committees have been formed to prepare for the accreditation process, indicating that the university has the technical staff, human resources, and distinguished academic capabilities necessary for this accreditation.
Eng. Ayman Attia confirmed his full support for Benha National University based on its educational role and community message, reflecting the state's vision in prioritizing higher education and linking it to sustainable development plans. He highlighted the need to utilize the university's capabilities and scientific and research staff in all specialties by establishing a Center of Excellence to serve and develop the industrial areas in Obour City.
On another note, the council approved the external auditor's report and the financial statements for the first and second quarters of the fiscal year 2024/2025 up to February 28, 2025. The council also approved, for the first time, a detailed estimated budget for the university for the academic year 2025/2026, which includes all revenues, expenses, and various needs of the university.
The council approved what Prof. Tamer Samir presented regarding the human resources plan for the administrative structure and the start of implementing the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to improve the quality of services provided and develop internal work mechanisms. They also approved the healthcare regulations at the university and the provision of a fully equipped ambulance to handle any emergencies on campus.
The council also approved increasing the spaces at the university and starting the construction of several new educational projects to enhance accessibility and accommodate students, as well as participating in the Arab Universities Forum scheduled to be held in the Jordanian capital Amman next July.

The Board of Trustees was informed about the activities of the Academic Affairs Sector and the measures taken regarding student admission policies, tuition fees, and the proposed numbers for the academic year 2025/2026, as well as the procedures for issuing graduation certificates, scholarships offered to students, and the evaluation mechanisms for faculty members and their assistants.
The council was also informed about the activities of the International Relations Sector, including signing several cooperation protocols and memoranda of understanding between Benha National University and several prestigious international universities, in addition to receiving various delegations and their visits to the university.
The council was updated on the activities of the Innovation, Employment, and Entrepreneurship Sector, which included signing several cooperation protocols between the university and various companies and industrial institutions to provide training and employment opportunities for students, along with approving several regulations for units and centers within the university.
