Benha National University Organized Awareness Seminar Series on Combating and Treating Addiction

In line with Benha National University's role in community service and supporting national efforts to protect youth from the dangers of addiction, under the auspices of Prof. Tamer Samir, President of the University, the Employment, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship Sector collaborated with the Fund for Combating and Treating Addiction and Substance Abuse (affiliated with the Cabinet) to organize an awareness seminar titled “Combating and Treating Addiction” for students of the College of Visual Arts and Design.

The event was attended by:

  • Ghada Al-Muslimi, Director of Programs at the College of Visual Arts and Design,
  • Rania Al-Kilani, Executive Director of the Center for Community and Environmental Activities and Services,
  • Ahmed Abdel Shafi, Expert in the Department of Toxicology and Narcotics at the Forensic Medicine Authority,
  • Marwa Sabry, Researcher at the Fund for Combating and Treating Addiction,
    alongside College members and students.

Prof. Mahmoud Shakal, Vice President of the University for Employment, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship, emphasized the University’s commitment to supporting national initiatives aimed at protecting youth from addiction. He highlighted the critical role of awareness and education as the “first line of defense” against this societal challenge.

During the seminar, speakers addressed the health, physical, and psychological harms of substance abuse, showcasing real-life cases and the latest scientific research in the field.

This seminar is part of a broader awareness campaign organized by Benha National University in collaboration with the Fund for Combating and Treating Addiction, aiming to foster community awareness and build a healthy, safe society free from the risks of substance abuse.
