Prof. Gamal El-Saeed: "The Center Will Drive National Research Excellence and Global Rankings"
The Board of Trustees of Benha National University, chaired by Prof. Gamal El-Saeed, approved the establishment of the University’s Center for Converging Sciences, Emerging Technologies, Research, Development, and Innovation during its latest session. The decision was announced in the presence of:
- Ayman Attia, Governor of Kalyobiya,
- Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University,
- Soheir Shaarawy, Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees,
- Maher Mesbah, Secretary of the Council of National Universities,
- Tamer Samir, President of Benha National University,
and other board members.
Features of the Center:
- Leadership and Oversight:
- Supervised by Mahmoud Saqr, the University’s Advisor for Scientific Research and Innovation and former President of the Academy of Scientific Research.
- The first center of its kind among Egyptian national universities, marking a qualitative leap in scientific research infrastructure.
- Budget and Strategic Goals:
- Allocated an initial budget of 5 million EGPto support interdisciplinary research, innovation, and development projects.
- Aims to position Benha National University as a leader in global rankings by fostering cutting-edge research aligned with Egypt’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
- Focus Areas:
- Converging Sciences: Bridging disciplines like nanotechnology, biotechnology, and AI to solve complex national challenges.
- Emerging Technologies: Prioritizing fields such as renewable energy, smart agriculture, and digital health.
