The Council of Benha National University held its meeting, chaired by Prof. Tamer Samir, President of the University, with the presence of Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, Prof. Hussein El-Maghraby, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Prof. Mahmoud Shakl, Vice President for Employment, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship, program directors, members of the university council, and Mr. Ayman Bayoumi, Secretary-General of the University.
Prof. Tamer Samir stated that the council reviewed the memorandum of understanding between Benha National University and Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, as well as the student exchange agreement with The Education University of Hong Kong, emphasizing that Benha National University pays great attention to enhancing cooperation with prestigious global universities, contributing to the development of its educational and research system.
Prof. Tamer Samir also noted that the council discussed the minutes of the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Benha National University Center for Research, Development, and Innovation in Converging Sciences and Emerging Technologies, which aims to stimulate and encourage young researchers to innovate and participate in research projects that serve national issues and sustainable development goals.
Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy expressed his happiness at participating in the Council of Benha National University, affirming the fruitful cooperation between Benha University and Benha National University in various sectors to provide distinguished educational services in line with the state's vision for educational development.
Prof. Hussein El-Maghraby reviewed the timeline and academic plan and opened the registration for courses for the second semester of the academic year 2025/2026. He also reviewed the semi-annual reports from program directors and departments regarding the first semester of the academic year 2025/2026.
Prof. El-Maghraby also presented the memorandum of understanding between Benha National University and Varna University of Management in Bulgaria, as well as the participation of Benha National University in the Universities Championship (Martyr Al-Rifai 53) from January 25, 2026, to February 1, 2026, and the scholarships offered to the children of employees and siblings for the academic year 2025/2026.
Prof. Mahmoud Shakl reviewed the proposed activities for the initiative "Goodness Unites Us," scheduled to be implemented during the holy month of Ramadan, and the signing of several cooperation protocols between the university and various institutions and centers aimed at providing training and employment opportunities for students.
The university council also reviewed the organization of the University Innovation Forum Innoventre 2026, under the title: "University Innovation in the Service of Industry and Sustainable Development," scheduled to be held on Wednesday, January 28, in collaboration with the Fund for Supporting Innovators and Talents affiliated with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research as a strategic partner with Benha National University.
