Benha National University held Its First Meeting for Visiting Professors and Researchers at the CoSET Research, Development, and Innovation Center for Converging Sciences and Emerging Technologies

Benha National University held its first meeting for visiting professors and researchers at the CoSET (Center for Research, Development, and Innovation in Converging Sciences and Emerging Technologies), as part of the university's commitment to support the research system, attract distinguished research talents, enhance innovation, and connect scientific research with practical application.

Prof. Tamer Samir, the President of the University, welcomed the attendees, emphasizing the importance of scientific research as a fundamental pillar for the advancement of universities. He pointed out its role in supporting the knowledge economy and achieving sustainable development. He also noted that having a specialized research center alongside academic programs represents a competitive advantage that contributes to supporting researchers and encouraging interdisciplinary and applied research.

Prof. Mahmoud Saqr, the University President's Advisor for Research and Innovation, explained that the CoSET Center aims to support and promote outstanding scientific research, enhance interdisciplinary research among various fields, and connect the outputs of scientific research with the needs of society and industry. He highlighted the center's role in encouraging innovation, building researchers' capacities, and establishing local and international research partnerships, thereby enhancing the university's research standing. He clarified that the center focuses on converging sciences and emerging technologies, such as biotechnology, artificial intelligence, and nanotechnology, to support the future of industry, environment, and education.

The meeting included an exchange of scientific ideas and visions between the visiting professors and researchers, contributing to the development of a clear work plan for the center in the upcoming phase. The attendees affirmed that the idea of establishing the center is pioneering, especially given the presence of a distinguished group of scientific figures capable of effectively contributing to the support of development and research innovation.
