The Board of Trustees of Benha National University approved the strategic plan and the establishment of an auditorium building

The Board of Trustees of Benha National University held its meeting, chaired by:

  • Gamal Al-Saeed,
  • Engineer Ayman Attia, Governor of Kalyobiya,
  • Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University,
  • Soheir Sharawy, Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees of Benha National University,
  • Tamer Samir, President of Benha National University,
  • Members of the Board of Trustees.

Prof. Gamal Al-Saeed opened the session by congratulating Prof. Abdel Aziz Qansoua on behalf of the board for the esteemed trust from the political leadership in his appointment as Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research within the new government formation. He affirmed that this selection reflects the state's confidence in national competencies capable of continuing the development of the higher education and scientific research system, wishing him continued success in fulfilling his duties.

Prof. Al-Saeed also expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to Prof. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, the former Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, for his efforts and contributions to the development of the higher education sector during his tenure.

Prof. Gamal Al-Saeed stated that Benha National University has witnessed a remarkable leap and progress in all sectors recently, becoming a leading model for private Egyptian universities that offer modern interdisciplinary programs aligned with labor market needs, equipped with laboratories and workshops utilizing the latest educational systems and technologies.

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees indicated the university's readiness to graduate its first batch this year, consisting of approximately 400 students, and that they are currently seeking accreditation from the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education, as the university now possesses the technical staff, human resources, and distinguished academic capabilities necessary for this accreditation.

Prof. Al-Saeed added that Benha National University places great importance on international relations and rankings, enhancing cooperation with prestigious global universities, activating joint programs, and developing laboratories, which contributes to improving its educational and research systems. He noted that international partnerships represent one of the essential pillars of the university's future strategy.

Engineer Ayman Attia confirmed that Benha National University has gained a distinguished position among universities, emphasizing his full support for the university based on its educational role and societal message, reflecting the state's vision in prioritizing higher education and linking it to sustainable development plans.

the council approved the auditor's report and the annual financial statements for the fiscal year 2024/2025, as well as the annual report of the Board of Trustees regarding the university's performance to be sent to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in accordance with Article 7 of the university's internal regulations.

The council also approved what Prof. Tamer Samir, President of the University, presented regarding the approval of the administrative and technical structure for dental clinics and physical therapy in New Obour City, the human resources plan for the clinics, as well as amendments to the financial regulations to match the administrative structure and job descriptions, in addition to the general rules for promoting Colleges members and supporting staff.

The council also agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding with the University of Varna for Management in Bulgaria, as well as a student exchange agreement with the University of Hong Kong in China, and to activate the cooperation agreement with the University of Louisville in the USA.

The council approved the report of the committee studying the proposals submitted by a company for the university to obtain the quality management system certification "ISO 9001" and the environmental management system certification "ISO 14001". It also reviewed the report on the first phase of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system implementation project and the commencement of the second phase within the university sectors, given its importance in enhancing administrative and academic performance, achieving integration among various university sectors, and supporting the digital transformation system.

The council approved what Prof. Hussein Al-Maghraby, Vice President for Academic Affairs, presented regarding the approval of the university's strategic plan for 2025-2030 as the first private university to adopt a strategic plan aligned with Egypt's Vision 2030 and the national strategy of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, as well as the procedures taken regarding the results of the first semester exams and the presentation of the students' survey results for the first semester.

The council was also briefed on the report by Prof. Mahmoud Shakl, Vice President for Employment, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship, regarding the university's innovation forum titled "University Innovation in the Service of Industry and Sustainable Development," which involved the participation of 61 universities and educational institutions and resulted in the funding of four innovative projects with a total funding of 2 million EGP, with each project receiving 500,000 EGP from the Fund for the Care of Innovators and Talents affiliated with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The council approved what Prof. Mohamed Said, the university's engineering consultant, presented regarding signing a cooperation protocol with the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces concerning the establishment of a central auditorium building at Benha National University to increase the university's capacity in the coming years, as the project includes 32 lecture halls with a capacity of approximately 5,000 students, in addition to a central library and offices for faculty members.
