Prof. Gamal El-Saeed, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Benha National University, announced that the board approved during its last session the establishment of the first college of Traditional Chinese Medicine, namely Nanjing-Benha College of Medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine. This college will be the first of its kind among private universities in Egypt, and necessary procedures will be taken with the Supreme Council of Universities and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to establish the new college.
This announcement was made in the presence of Eng. Ayman Attia, Governor of Kalyobiya, Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, Prof. Soheir Sharawy, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Prof. Tamer Samir, President of Benha National University, along with other board members.
Prof. Gamal El-Saeed explained that the joint college will be located on the main campus of Benha National University in Al-Obour, noting that it aims to enhance education and apply traditional medicine in Egypt and the Middle East, preparing highly qualified medical professionals in specialized fields.
Benha National University will provide the faculty, teaching spaces, offices, laboratories, and housing for students, while Nanjing University will provide the curriculum, academic guidance, and training for faculty members in line with community needs and labor market demands.
Prof. Tamer Samir, President of Benha National University, added that the new college will offer a variety of programs in Traditional Chinese Medicine, including acupuncture, physical therapy, clinical medicine that integrates Chinese and Western practices, and nursing, with a study duration of 5 years, after which students will receive a bachelor's degree.
