President of Benha National University Participates in the Opening of the International Conference on Smart Sustainable Systems

As part of Benha National University’s ongoing commitment to advancing scientific research and strengthening international collaboration, Prof. Tamer Samir, President of Benha National University, participated in the opening session of the 2026 IEEE International Conference on Smart Sustainable Systems for Computer and Engineering Applications (3SCEA 2026), hosted by French University in Egypt in cooperation with the IEEE Egypt Section.

The conference brought together a distinguished group of university presidents, faculty members, and researchers from around the world. The opening ceremony was held under the patronage of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and was attended by the French Ambassador to Cairo. Representing Benha National University, the delegation also included Prof. Mohamed Anwar, Professor in the Faculty of Engineering and Director of the Center for Continuing Education.

Prof. Tamer Samir reaffirmed the University’s commitment to maintaining an active presence at leading international scientific forums, underscoring the importance of such events in promoting knowledge exchange and keeping pace with the latest developments in smart systems and sustainability. He highlighted the vital role these conferences play in fostering innovation and establishing productive research partnerships with distinguished academic and research institutions worldwide.

He further noted that the University’s participation reflects its broader strategy to strengthen its academic and research standing at both the regional and international levels, while preparing highly qualified graduates equipped to meet the evolving demands of the labor market and rapid technological advancement.

The conference aims to explore the latest innovations and emerging technologies in smart and sustainable systems. More than 450 researchers from 35 countries took part in the event, presenting 326 scientific papers across a wide range of thematic tracks and specialized sessions, in addition to workshops and panel discussions addressing key global challenges at the intersection of technology and sustainability.
