The Council of Benha National University convened under the chairmanship of Prof. Tamer Samir, President of the University, in the presence of Prof. Nasser El Gizawy, President of Benha University; Prof. Hussein El Maghraby, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Prof. Mahmoud Shakal, Vice President for Employment, Innovation and Entrepreneurship; Directors of Programs; members of the University Council; and Mr. Ayman Bayoumi, Secretary-General of the University.
Prof. Tamer Samir announced that the Council approved a proposal to establish a specialized academy dedicated to teaching programming, artificial intelligence, and robotics to school students. The initiative is intended to serve the community and promote technological literacy and awareness of artificial intelligence among students in Obour City schools.
The Council also approved the formation of an executive committee tasked with implementing the mandate of the Higher Committee responsible for developing the national vision for academic disciplines and university programs.
During the meeting, Prof. Hussein El Maghraby presented the proposed rules and general policies governing the admission of new students for the 2026/2027 academic year. He also reviewed the formal equivalency of the Bachelor of Engineering Science degree awarded by the Faculty of Engineering at Benha National University, as well as the results of the University’s third cycle of support for international scientific publishing, launched in November 2025.
Prof. Mahmoud Shakal reviewed a number of cooperation protocols concluded between the University and various institutions and specialized centers, aimed at expanding practical training and employment opportunities for students.
In addition, Prof. Ayman Samir, Director of Programs, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, presented recently signed cooperation protocols between the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Benha National University and a number of veterinary institutions, with the aim of strengthening academic collaboration and enhancing practical training opportunities for students.
