Under the patronage of Prof. Tamer Samir, President of Benha National University, and Prof. Hussein El-Maghraby, Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Faculty of Medicine launched its Second Annual Medical Conference under the theme Medical Innovation: Opportunities and Challenges. The conference was organized under the supervision of Prof. Ashraf El-Mashad, Director of Programs, Faculty of Medicine, and Conference Chair, as part of the University’s commitment to advancing scientific research and keeping pace with emerging developments in the medical field.
The conference brought together a distinguished group of academic and medical leaders. Participating virtually was Prof. Hisham Abou El-Enein, Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine and former Vice President of Benha University. Attendees also included Prof. Hosny Abdel Rahman, former Dean of Benha University’s Faculty of Medicine; Prof. Mohamed El-Ashhab, Dean of Benha University’s Faculty of Medicine; Prof. Ahmed El-Gazzar, former Dean of the Faculty of Medicine; Prof. Mohamed El-Shafei, former Dean of the Faculty of Medicine; Prof. Amr El-Dakhakhny, Executive Director of Benha University Hospitals; Prof. Mohamed Gohar, Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Benha University and Fellow of the Royal College in the United Kingdom; and Prof. Mahmoud Abdel Sabour, Supervisor of the Medical Sector at Benha National University and former Dean of Benha University’s Faculty of Medicine. The conference also welcomed a distinguished group of professors and experts from Egyptian universities and the Egyptian Center for Regenerative Medicine and Medical Research.
The conference was designed to serve as a distinguished scientific platform bringing together experts and researchers from Egypt and abroad to exchange expertise, transfer knowledge, and support the localization of advanced medical technologies in ways that contribute to the continued development of the healthcare system.
Its scientific sessions addressed a range of priority topics, including women’s health in light of national efforts to strengthen healthcare services, as well as applications of artificial intelligence in medicine and their role in improving diagnostic accuracy and advancing treatment planning.
The conference also explored the latest developments in robotic surgery and minimally invasive procedures, in addition to the use of virtual reality and simulation technologies in medical education and in enhancing the capabilities of healthcare professionals.
The program featured international lectures delivered by specialists from around the world, alongside the Student Research Conference, which provided medical students with an opportunity to present their research and further develop their academic skills under the guidance of specialized scientific committees.
In recognition of academic excellence, the conference honored the top-performing cohorts of the Faculty of Medicine in acknowledgment of their outstanding achievement and as encouragement to continue their pursuit of excellence. A number of distinguished scholars whose contributions were instrumental to the success of the event were also recognized, together with academic leaders from Benha University and Benha National University, as well as administrative staff, in appreciation of their dedication and sustained support for the University’s continued development.
