Benha National University’s Faculty of Engineering achieved a distinguished result at the MATE Egypt Regional ROV Competition 2026, hosted by the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, where Team AQUAVENTURES was awarded the prestigious Team Spirit Award. The participation reflects the University’s growing distinction in scientific and technological competitions.

The Faculty’s participation was organized under the patronage of Prof. Tamer Samir, President of Benha National University, and Prof. Hussein El-Maghraby, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and under the supervision of Prof. Mohamed Saeed, Engineering Advisor to Benha National University’s Board of Trustees and Dean of Faculty of Engineering at Shoubra, Benha University. The initiative forms part of the University’s ongoing commitment to fostering innovation and strengthening students’ applied engineering skills.

This year, the Faculty was represented by two teams, RoboCore and AQUAVENTURES, under the follow-up of Prof. Mahmoud El-Refaie, Director of Programs, Faculty of Engineering, and the academic supervision of Prof. Hossam Ramadan and Prof. Dina Hosny El-Naggar. Building on the success of last year’s participation, both teams delivered an impressive performance that reflected a high level of technical competence and practical expertise.

These efforts culminated in AQUAVENTURES receiving the Team Spirit Award in recognition of the team’s exceptional collaboration, discipline, and professionalism throughout the competition—qualities that embody the core principles of successful engineering practice.

Prof. Tamer Samir, President of Benha National University, emphasized that this achievement demonstrates the ability of the University’s students to translate theoretical knowledge into impactful practical applications. He noted that the teamwork demonstrated by the students represents one of the most important determinants of success in contemporary engineering fields and reaffirmed the University’s commitment to an educational model grounded in innovation and hands-on experience, preparing graduates capable of excelling across advanced technology sectors.

Prof. Tamer Samir added that the award reflects the successful integration of theoretical and applied learning and the students’ ability to perform effectively within engineering teams in highly competitive environments. He commended the outstanding efforts of all participants, with particular recognition for Team AQUAVENTURES, led by student Seif El-Din Aboul Ela, for setting an exemplary standard of commitment, technical excellence, and collaborative performance.

Benha National University reaffirmed its continued support for specialized student activities, underscoring its conviction that constructive competition is a cornerstone in preparing a generation equipped to lead in innovation and technological advancement.
