New Strategic Partnership Between Benha National University and the School of Continuing Education at The American University in Cairo

Benha National University has launched a new strategic partnership with the School of Continuing Education at The American University in Cairo as part of its commitment to expanding academic collaboration and exchanging expertise in continuing education and workforce development.

The partnership was inaugurated during a visit by a delegation from the The American University in Cairo, led by Prof. Mahmoud Allam, Dean of the School of Continuing Education. The delegation was received by Prof. Tamer Samir, President of Benha National University, in the presence of several program directors, as well as Prof. Iman Abdel-Haq, Supervisor of the Foreign Languages Center, and Prof. Mohamed Anwar, Director of the Continuing Education Center.

The delegation also included Prof. Doaa Salem, Senior Executive Director for Outreach and Partnerships; Prof. Ahmed Sayed, Director of Grants and Special Programs; Prof. Noha Othman, Director of Career Development; Prof. Maged Habashy, Director of the Languages Department; Prof. Ahmed El-Sherbiny, Senior Director of Strategy and Initiative Development; and Ms. Sara Abdel Aziz, Outreach and Partnerships Officer.

The two sides held an extensive meeting to explore areas of cooperation and discuss the design and delivery of modern educational and training programs aligned with labor market requirements.

Prof. Tamer Samir described the partnership as a significant strategic step in advancing Benha National University’s continuing education ecosystem. He noted that the University adopts a comprehensive vision centered on investing in human capital across all constituencies, including faculty members, administrative staff, and students.

He emphasized that students remain at the heart of the University’s educational mission and that the institution is committed to equipping them with competencies that extend beyond traditional academic study, including language proficiency, negotiation skills, communication skills, and broader interpersonal capabilities that enhance their competitiveness in both local and international labor markets.

Prof. Tamer Samir added that cooperation with the School of Continuing Education reflects the University’s parallel commitment to building an efficient and high-performing administrative workforce capable of supporting institutional development through specialized training programs designed to strengthen professional and managerial capacities.

Representatives of the School of Continuing Education presented the College’s extensive experience in delivering professional and training programs and highlighted successful partnerships with other universities, reinforcing the prospects for launching high-quality joint initiatives.

Discussions focused on several key areas of collaboration, including the development of specialized training plans for students across the University’s faculties covering both professional and soft skills, in addition to English language programs. The two institutions also explored the integration of selected student training courses into academic curricula to further strengthen the applied dimension of the educational process.

In support of human capital development, the two sides examined opportunities to design training programs aimed at enhancing the capabilities of the University’s administrative staff across all sectors and departments. They also underscored the importance of expanding training opportunities for employees and factory workers in the industrial zone of Obour City, building on existing cooperation protocols with industrial institutions and contributing to community engagement and sustainable development objectives.

The visit concluded with a tour of Benha National University’s campus, including academic facilities, laboratories, and student support services. The delegation commended the University’s advanced infrastructure and modern educational environment.

This partnership forms part of Benha National University’s broader strategy to strengthen cooperation with distinguished educational institutions and deliver contemporary learning opportunities that respond effectively to the evolving demands of local and international labor markets.
