Benha National University Launches the First Scientific Day of Its Faculty of Veterinary Medicine with International Experts and Specialized Researchers

Benha National University’s Faculty of Veterinary Medicine inaugurated its first Scientific Day under the theme, “Shaping the Future of Veterinary Medicine through Innovation, Integration, and Global Impact,” underscoring the University’s commitment to academic excellence, international engagement, and the advancement of professionally oriented education.

The event was held under the patronage of Prof. Tamer Samir, President of Benha National University, and attended by Prof. Hussein El-Maghraby, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Major General Prof. Mohamed Shendy, Chief of Staff of the Veterinary Services Department of the Egyptian Armed Forces; Prof. Magdy Hassan, President of the General Syndicate of Veterinarians; and Prof. Ayman Samir Farid, Director of Programs, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. The Scientific Day also brought together faculty members, teaching assistants, students, and representatives of government institutions, professional associations, private-sector organizations, and specialized companies.

The event featured distinguished international participation, reflecting Benha National University’s commitment to engaging with global expertise and strengthening academic and research collaboration with leading institutions worldwide. The program included an international scientific session with eminent scholars and specialists from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Japan, and the United States.

Prof. Tamer Samir stated that the launch of the Faculty’s inaugural Scientific Day, with its strong national and international participation, reflects the University’s strategic vision to build a modern educational ecosystem that is globally connected and academically progressive. He noted that Benha National University’s Board of Trustees, chaired by Prof. Gamal El-Saeed, places particular emphasis on expanding international cooperation, promoting the exchange of expertise, and connecting students and faculty members with the latest scientific and applied developments.

Prof. Hussein El-Maghraby emphasized that the event’s international dimension adds significant value to the educational process by broadening students’ horizons and exposing them to global advances in veterinary medicine, One Health, food safety, animal production, and emerging applications of technology and artificial intelligence.

Prof. Magdy Hassan expressed his pleasure at participating in the Faculty’s first Scientific Day, describing the event as a clear demonstration of the strong partnership between Benha National University as a promising academic institution and the General Syndicate of Veterinarians. He underscored the pivotal role of veterinarians in safeguarding public health and strengthening food security.

Prof. Ayman Samir Farid noted that the inaugural Scientific Day marks an important milestone in the Faculty’s efforts to establish an educational and training model aligned with international standards and integrating academic, applied, and professional dimensions. He added that hosting experts from leading universities provides meaningful opportunities for students and faculty members to engage with internationally recognized research communities and contemporary scientific approaches.

The program also featured a specialized applied and professional scientific session with Egyptian experts and practitioners. Discussions addressed stem cell applications in veterinary medicine, companion animal care, food safety, career opportunities in the pharmaceutical and animal feed industries, and the veterinarian’s role in the dairy industry and food quality assurance systems.

The Scientific Day concluded with the presentation of the event’s recommendations, the recognition of top-performing students, and a renewed affirmation of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine’s commitment to advancing academic and professional development and expanding local and international partnerships to prepare highly qualified veterinarians equipped to compete globally and serve society effectively.
