Prof. Gamal El-Saeed: We Are Committed to Deepening International Academic Engagement and Expanding High-Impact Opportunities for Education and Research
Benha National University welcomed a delegation from Fulbright Egypt as part of its strategic efforts to expand international academic cooperation and create new opportunities for educational exchange, scientific research, and institutional collaboration.
Prof. Gamal El-Saeed, Chair of Benha National University’s Board of Trustees, welcomed Prof. Maggie Nassif, Executive Director of Fulbright Egypt, and her accompanying delegation. The meeting was attended by Prof. Sohair El-Sharawy, Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees; Prof. Tamer Samir, President of Benha National University; Prof. Hussein El Maghraby, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Prof. Mahmoud Shakal, Vice President for Employment, Innovation and Entrepreneurship; and the University’s Directors of Programs.
Discussions focused on expanding cooperation between the University and Fulbright Egypt, including the development of joint research initiatives through Benha National University’s Research, Development and Innovation Center for Convergent Sciences and Emerging Technologies. The two sides also explored ways to increase participation in Fulbright’s academic exchange programs and broaden access to high-quality opportunities in education and scientific research.
Prof. Gamal El-Saeed reaffirmed the University’s commitment to strengthening its international partnerships and benefiting from global expertise to advance academic excellence and institutional capacity. He emphasized that these efforts are central to aligning the University’s educational and research activities with evolving labor market needs and emerging trends across scientific disciplines.
The University President noted that the Fulbright delegation delivered a comprehensive presentation on the scholarships and academic programs available to students, researchers, and faculty members, highlighting their role in supporting scientific research and enhancing academic and professional competencies.
Prof. Maggie Nassif praised Benha National University’s advanced academic infrastructure and modern educational facilities. She underscored the importance of continuing this collaboration to support students and researchers through Fulbright’s fully funded scholarship programs for the 2027–2028 academic year.
The Vice President for Academic Affairs added that the visit also included an open meeting with the University’s Directors of Programs, followed by an informational seminar for faculty members, researchers, and students. The session provided a detailed overview of application procedures, fields of study, admission requirements, and the academic and professional benefits offered through Fulbright’s internationally recognized programs.
