Benha National University Launches Five-a-Side Interfaculty Football League with Record Participation from 110 Student Teams

Benha National University has concluded its Interfaculty Five-a-Side Football League for the second semester of the 2025–2026 academic year, reaffirming the University’s commitment to enriching student life and promoting teamwork, discipline, and healthy competition through its ongoing support for student activities and campus engagement. 

The tournament was organized with the support of Prof. Tamer Samir, President of Benha National University, and Prof. Hussein El Maghraby, Vice President for Academic Affairs, under the supervision of Prof. Khaled Eissawy, Advisor to the President for Student Activities.

This year’s competition attracted unprecedented student participation, with 110 teams representing the University’s various faculties competing in 117 matches held between 12 April and 5 May 2026. The tournament generated an enthusiastic sporting atmosphere that reflected students’ strong sense of belonging, team spirit, and competitive drive.

The title was claimed by “El Shabraweya” from the Faculty of Medicine, while “The Gunners” from the Faculty of Engineering secured second place. “Game Kings” from the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration finished third following a series of closely contested matches marked by a high technical standard. 

Prof. Tamer Samir emphasized that student activities constitute a fundamental component of the University experience and play a central role in shaping well-rounded graduates. He noted that initiatives of this kind strengthen cooperation, self-discipline, and sportsmanship while contributing to students’ physical and social development.

The tournament concluded with widespread praise for its outstanding organization and the exemplary performance of participating students, reflecting Benha National University’s continued commitment to providing a dynamic campus environment that encourages active participation, personal development, and excellence across all aspects of university life.
