Benha National University Engineering Students Present Graduation Projects Supporting Digital Transformation and Sustainable Development

Graduation projects developed by students in Benha National University's Communication Systems Engineering and Mechatronics and Automation Engineering programs were presented before academic evaluation panels, showcasing innovative engineering solutions that address real-world challenges through emerging technologies.

The presentations were attended by Prof. Tamer Samir, President of Benha National University; Prof. Hussein El-Maghraby, Vice President for Academic Affairs; and were supervised by Prof. Mahmoud El-Refaie, Director of Programs, Faculty of Engineering. Faculty members from leading Egyptian universities participated in the evaluation panels.

Prof. Tamer Samir noted that graduation projects reflect students' ability to apply academic learning to practical engineering challenges, emphasizing that innovation lies at the heart of engineering education. He added that Benha National University is committed to providing an academic and research environment that encourages creativity and supports the development of practical solutions to the challenges facing industry and society.

Prof. Hussein El-Maghraby said that the University continues to advance its academic programs in line with the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the evolving needs of the labor market. He noted that graduation projects have become an important opportunity for students to demonstrate their technical capabilities while applying advanced technologies to develop engineering solutions with practical applications.

The projects showcased innovative applications of artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), computer vision, robotics, and renewable energy across a broad range of sectors. Students developed solutions for healthcare, assistive technologies for individuals with visual impairments, intelligent energy management systems, electric vehicles, industrial automation, smart homes, and smart agriculture, illustrating how engineering innovation can contribute to digital transformation and sustainable development.

Prof. Mahmoud El-Refaie noted that the projects represent the culmination of months of research, design, testing, and collaborative work. He added that several projects show strong potential for further development into functional prototypes and startups, reinforcing the University's commitment to innovation and strengthening the connection between engineering education, industry, and society.

The evaluation panels praised the academic and technical quality of the projects, highlighting the students' creativity, engineering judgment, teamwork, and ability to develop practical, implementable solutions. They noted that the projects reflect the quality of engineering education at Benha National University and the University's continued success in preparing graduates equipped to innovate, solve complex engineering challenges, and contribute to the future of the profession.
