The high-level discussions brought together Prof. Tamer Samir, President of Benha National University, and a senior delegation from Canterbury Christ Church University, led by Prof. Claire Ozanne, Vice-Chancellor of the University, together with Prof. Mohamed Abdel Meguid, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Education, Student Experience and International, to explore opportunities for collaboration between the two universities across academic and research fields and to strengthen international partnership in higher education and scientific research.

Prof. Tamer Samir reaffirmed Benha National University’s commitment to expanding its international partnerships with leading universities worldwide, noting that such collaborations contribute to the continued development of academic programmes, the advancement of scientific research, and the provision of high-quality educational opportunities for students.
He added that collaboration with Canterbury Christ Church University represents an important step in advancing the University’s internationalisation strategy and provides a strong foundation for developing joint academic programmes leading to dual degrees, while strengthening cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
The meeting included extensive discussions on opportunities for collaboration across a range of academic and research fields, in support of the strategic objectives of both institutions.
Prof. Claire Ozanne commended Benha National University’s advanced academic and research capabilities, reaffirming Canterbury Christ Church University’s commitment to establishing a long-term strategic partnership spanning education, research, innovation, and capacity building in a manner that serves the shared interests of both universities.
The visit concluded with a tour of Benha National University’s campus led by Prof. Tamer Samir. The delegation visited a number of colleges, specialised laboratories, smart learning facilities, and research infrastructure. The programme also included a visit to the Faculty of Visual Arts and Design exhibition, showcasing students’ creative work across a range of artistic disciplines, followed by a tour of the University’s museum, which houses an outstanding collection of Egyptian heritage replicas representing the Pharaonic, Graeco-Roman, Coptic, and Islamic civilisations.
At the conclusion of the visit, members of the delegation expressed their appreciation for the University’s advanced infrastructure, academic and research facilities, and modern learning environment. They also commended the University’s development and reaffirmed their confidence in its potential as a strategic international partner for future academic collaboration.
