Benha National University President: First Career Fair Strengthens Industry Partnerships and Aligns Education with Labour Market Needs
Prof. Tamer Samir, President of Benha National University, affirmed that the University's First Career Fair forms part of its strategic vision to align education with labour market needs and to prepare graduates with the knowledge and skills required to compete at the local, regional, and international levels.
He made these remarks during the opening of the University's First Career Fair, attended by Prof. Mahmoud Shakal, Vice President for Employment, Innovation and Entrepreneurship; Prof. Ahmed Shawky, Deputy President of the National Water Research Center for Research Affairs; Prof. Taher Nasr, Deputy Executive Director of the National Training Academy; Major General Prof. Amr Abdel Aziz, Chairman of Kader Factory for Advanced Industries; Prof. Mona Khairy, Chairwoman of ARES Company; programme directors; representatives of industrial companies and institutions; faculty members; students; and graduates.
Prof. Tamer Samir explained that Benha National University adopts a modern educational model that goes beyond awarding academic degrees, focusing on preparing qualified graduates equipped with practical skills and the ability to innovate through advanced academic programmes aligned with national development priorities and labour market needs.
Prof. Samir added that the Fair serves as a platform for direct engagement between students, graduates, and employers, providing opportunities for training, professional development, and employment, while enhancing graduates' readiness for professional careers. He also expressed his appreciation to the participating companies and institutions for supporting the Fair and for their confidence in the quality and capabilities of the University's students and graduates.
He encouraged students and graduates to make the most of the Fair by engaging with company representatives and gaining a better understanding of labour market requirements, stressing that continuous learning and skills development are key to long-term professional success.
Prof. Mahmoud Shakal, Vice President for Employment, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, said that the Fair reflects the University's vision of building effective partnerships with industry and business, contributing to the preparation of students and graduates and equipping them with the skills required to meet labour market demands.
Prof. Shakal added that the University aims not only to provide employment opportunities but also to prepare graduates who are capable of innovation, entrepreneurship, and creating opportunities. He noted that collaboration with companies contributes to the continuous development of academic programmes and strengthens their connection with practical applications, further enhancing the quality of the University's educational outcomes.
The Fair also featured a panel discussion entitled "From the Classroom to the Workplace: Bridging the Gap", during which participants discussed ways to better align educational outcomes with labour market needs and strengthen collaboration between universities and the industrial and business sectors in support of preparing highly qualified graduates capable of competing in today's labour market.
