The Benha National University Council held its meeting under the chairmanship of Prof. Tamer Samir, President of Benha National University, in the presence of Prof. Hussein El-Maghraby, Vice President for Academic Affairs, programme directors, members of the University Council, and Mr Ayman Bayoumi, Secretary General of the University.
At the outset of the meeting, Prof. Tamer Samir recognised a number of former academic leaders in appreciation of their distinguished contributions to supporting the University's educational, research, and student affairs. Those honoured were Prof. Mahmoud Shakal, former Vice President for Employment, Alumni and Innovation; Prof. Karim El-Dash, former Vice President for International Relations; Prof. Ayman Samir Farid, former Director of the Veterinary Medicine Programmes; and Prof. Shady El-Mashad, former Director of the Computer Science Programmes.
Prof. Tamer Samir also expressed his appreciation to the University's academic and administrative leadership for their dedication and the efforts they made throughout the academic year.
The Council approved the revised organisational structure of Benha National University, as presented by Prof. Tamer Samir, President of the University.
During the meeting, Prof. Hussein El-Maghraby presented the results of the second semester of the 2025/2026 academic year across the University's academic programmes, together with the study plan for the Summer Semester.
Prof. Hussein El-Maghraby also presented the decision issued by the Secretary of the Supreme Council of Universities regarding the equivalency of Benha National University's Bachelor of Computer Science degree in the specialisations of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning and Software Development and Applications, reflecting the quality of the University's academic programmes.
The Council was also briefed on training scholarships offered by Nanjing University, China, to the top-performing students enrolled in the University's medical programmes. The initiative forms part of the University's commitment to supporting academic excellence and expanding international engagement.
