As Egypt advances its efforts to expand the international reach of its higher education sector and promote Egyptian education services in new markets, Benha National University is participating in the “Study in Egypt” education promotion mission in Nigeria. The mission, which brings together representatives of a number of Egyptian universities, is taking place in Lagos from August 24 to 30, 2026.
Held under the auspices of Prof. Tamer Samir, President of Benha National University, the University’s participation reflects its commitment to strengthening its international presence and introducing prospective international students to its academic offerings and educational opportunities. It also supports Egypt’s broader drive to internationalize higher education and attract increasing numbers of international students.
Representing Benha National University at the mission are Prof. Mohamed Mostafa, Director of Programs, Faculty of Energy Sciences, and Prof. Mohamed Anwar, Supervisor of the International Students Administration. Throughout the mission, they are presenting the University’s academic programs, engaging with Nigerian students and educational institutions, and providing information and guidance to prospective students interested in pursuing their studies at Benha National University.
The mission forms part of Egypt’s national efforts to promote its higher education sector internationally, expand the reach of Egyptian educational services in overseas markets, and foster new partnerships between Egyptian universities and higher education institutions in target countries. These efforts seek to attract more international students and reinforce Egypt’s position as a leading regional and international destination for higher education.
Organized by the Egyptian General Authority for Exhibitions and Conferences in cooperation with the Central Administration for International Students at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Supreme Council of Universities, and the Egyptian Commercial Service, the mission provides a platform for participating universities to showcase Egypt’s higher education system and academic programs, while exploring opportunities for cooperation with Nigerian educational institutions.
For Nigerian students, the mission offers direct access to information about participating Egyptian universities, their academic programs, admission requirements, and tuition fees. It also provides an opportunity to engage with university representatives and receive first-hand answers to questions about studying in Egypt.
The mission will continue in Abuja and Kano in the coming days, extending outreach to Nigerian students and educational institutions, opening new avenues for academic cooperation, and further promoting Egypt as a regional and international destination for higher education.
Benha National University’s participation underscores its commitment to expanding its international engagement, strengthening support for international students, and raising the global profile of its academic programs. It also advances the University’s vision as a modern, fourth-generation university and its pursuit of strong and sustainable international academic partnerships.
