Benha National University hosted the 8th edition of the "Masriya Stars" program, organized by the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and Hayat Karima Foundation. Under the auspices of Professor Tamer Samir, the university president, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and Hayat Karima Foundation concluded the first phase of the training program “Masriya Stars: Steps Towards Achieving Real Success,” which targeted 70 students from Benha National University over four days, from December 16 to 19, 2024.
The closing ceremony and distribution of certificates for completing the training program was attended by Professor Mahmoud Shakel, the university's vice president for employment, innovation, and entrepreneurship, who praised the program's importance and its role in developing youth skills and enhancing their active role in society. He confirmed that this program aligns with Egypt's Vision 2030, which aims to build a comprehensive society that enhances the capabilities of youth and relies on innovation and creativity as a means to achieve sustainable development.
The 8th edition included a series of lectures and workshops aimed at raising awareness among youth and developing their skills. The trainees received comprehensive training in five main training components covering various topics, including:
- Egyptian heritage, identity, and personality,
- Egypt's role in the Palestinian cause throughout history, confronting cognitive wars and countering rumors, as well as
- a culture of innovation and creativity,
- sustainable development and its global goals,
- Egypt's Vision 2030, future jobs and the skills needed for the current and future job market, along with entrepreneurship and economic empowerment.
The "Stars" program is one of the joint cooperation between the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and Hayat Karima Foundation in the Agile Youth initiative, which aims to develop and build the capacities of youth and enhance their skills. The initiative was launched last August in celebration of the International Youth Day 2024, aiming to build a conscious youth capable of generating innovative ideas to achieve positive societal change that aligns with the demands of the era.
During the ceremony, some participants shared their experiences, expressing their significant benefit from the lectures and workshops. They confirmed that they have become more aware of societal issues and better prepared to face future challenges.
At the end of the ceremony, certificates of completion were distributed to the participating students, with everyone expressing their gratitude to the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Hayat Karima Foundation, and Benha National University for organizing this distinguished program, which contributed to honing their skills and increasing their awareness of important issues facing society.
"Masriya Stars" program is considered a model for integrating education with community development, reflecting the commitment of educational institutions to support youth and empower them to become future leaders.
The training program “Masriya Stars: Steps Towards Achieving Real Success” targeted 550 students from Egyptian university youth, and the first training round lasted for four consecutive months, covering the governorates of Alexandria, Beheira, Gharbia, Sohag, and Kalyobiya.
