Benha National University participated in the Human Capital Conference, where Prof. Tamer Samir, President of the University, joined senior representatives from government, higher education, the information and communications technology sector, private industry, and workforce development partners to discuss strategies for developing digital talent and strengthening workforce competitiveness.
Prof. Tamer Samir attended the conference alongside Prof. Mohamed Anwar, Professor at the Faculty of Engineering and Director of Benha National University's Center for Continuing Education. The event, organized by the Wadhwani Foundation in partnership with MCS, featured the launch of the Training for Employment: Strengthening Workforce Development Pathways for Egypt's Digital Sector initiative.As part of the conference, Prof. Tamer Samir participated in the national roundtable discussion, Building a Sustainable Digital Skills Ecosystem in Egypt: Advancing Workforce Readiness and Competitiveness. The session brought together representatives from higher education institutions, government entities, the private sector, and development partners to exchange perspectives, identify shared priorities, and explore opportunities for collaboration in strengthening Egypt's digital skills ecosystem.
The roundtable explored a number of strategic priorities, including the evolving digital skills landscape in Egypt, the changing demands of technology-driven labor markets, the technical and transferable skills required for future careers, approaches to strengthening education and workforce development, expanding university–industry collaboration, and preparing the workforce for the accelerating impact of artificial intelligence. Participants also discussed pathways for building a sustainable national framework capable of developing globally competitive digital talent.
Prof. Tamer Samir reaffirmed that equipping graduates with the digital and professional competencies required by the labor market remains a strategic priority for Benha National University. He noted that the University continues to strengthen its academic programs, expand practical training opportunities, and build strategic partnerships with industry and technology leaders to better align educational outcomes with labor market needs while supporting Egypt's transition toward a knowledge-based economy driven by innovation.
