Benha National University is a non-profit National university from the new fourth-generation smart universities, located in Al-Obour City in Kalyobiya Governorate, and comprises 10 Colleges.
Benha National University was established by Presidential Decree No. (369) of 2022, consisting of 7 Colleges:
- College of Medicine,
- College of Dentistry,
- College of Physical Therapy,
- College of Engineering,
- College of Applied Health Sciences Technology,
- College of Economics and Business Administration, and
- College of Computer Science.
Subsequently, Presidential Decree No. 344 of 2023 was issued to add 3 new Colleges:
- College of Visual Arts,
- College of Veterinary Medicine, and
- College of Energy Sciences.
The academic year 2022/2023 saw the commencement of studies at Benha National University with four Colleges:
- College of Medicine,
- College of Engineering,
- College of Computer Science, and
- College of Economics and Business Administration,
based on Ministerial Decree No. (4083) of 2022. Then, Ministerial Decree No. (1170) of 2023 was issued to start studies at the College of Dentistry and College of Physical Therapy in the academic year 2023/2024. Ministerial Decree No. 1846 of 2024 was issued to begin studies at the College of Veterinary Medicine and College of Visual Arts and Design in the academic year 2024/2025. Finally, Ministerial Decree No. 2675 of 2025 was issued to commence studies at the College of Energy Sciences in the academic year 2025/2026.

The university offers a comprehensive range of undergraduate programs designed to equip graduates with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in a rapidly evolving world, ensuring 25 unique programs across 10 diverse fields of study, providing students with the tools and knowledge needed to make meaningful contributions in their chosen fields, thereby ensuring they are well-prepared to navigate the developments of the modern world.
The campus of Benha National University is carefully designed to foster a stimulating and supportive educational environment over an area of 40 acres, featuring 10 buildings: the university's administrative building, 6 academic buildings, a central laboratories building (considered the core of the university), 2 workshop buildings, as well as recreational areas and sports fields. The university also contains a theater in the administrative building, a Roman theater, and a comprehensive library, providing students with the tools they need to excel academically and professionally.
The university aims for global competitiveness while preserving Egyptian identity and enhancing relations with Arab and African countries through numerous international and local partnerships to provide higher education that supports innovation and creativity, offering training opportunities linked to labor market needs, thereby supporting job opportunities for its graduates and creating a generation capable of regional and global leadership.
